Forge

The project is a prototype made while at Wild Blueberry Games. It took 4 months for the team of 3 employee, myself included, to produce this vertical slice. The project was able to attract significant investment from the Canadian Media Funds.

The game is a cozy mobile crafting game where you collect minerals, forge pieces of armor and sell them to NPC’s

You can navigate in a world to uncover events or mine for minerals


The game has multiple menus like this one. Their all compatible with all the resolutions a phone can have

The player has the choice of three activities that are making and adding value to the piece they chose to forge

Forging is a simple process where you bend a metal piece using hammer and anvil to make the bar match a pattern the player chose

Tempering is a feature where the equipment needs to be heated and cooled uniformly to a certain temperature, depending on the material chosen while forged

As a designer

This project was a quick prototype used to attract funds, which it accomplished.

I learned the importance of milestones and deadlines. I also did prototype many of the minigames myself before they got reworked by our programmer.

Finally, since it’s targeted at mobile user, I had to imagine both UI/UX and the gameplay loops to fit for that platform.
